The water evaporates faster compared to natural grass therefore the water consumption will increase even more if you consider a natural grass pitch. Additionally, the low bulk density of the organic components makes them easily removable by wind and rainwater, so it is necessary to refill the missing material, every year, to maintain the characteristics of the system performance and extend the lifespan of the fibres.
Remove the old synthetic turf and disposal in a landfill costs 30-60,000 € and in the future it is expected to increase in costs due to the reduction of landfills.
